The LDOE Certification Team offers Office Hours appointments for human resources personnel & preparation providers to schedule time to speak with a Certification Specialist about unique or complex certification issues. This service is offered to authorized HR office personnel and program providers only. An authenticated login account is required to submit a request for Office Hours.
Office Hours are held Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in 15-minute increments.
A senior Certification Specialist and a novice Specialist will call at the scheduled time using the phone number provided on the appointment. As this service is only offered to authorized HR and program provider personnel, our office will not call an educator directly. Appointments scheduled using an educator’s direct contact information will be canceled.
Individual educators should not be included in appointments or invited to sit in for the call. Our office will provide a summary of what was discussed following each call which may then be shared with the educator where needed. Individual educators with questions for our office should submit questions in writing through the Teacher Certification Help Portal. Our office will respond in writing.
Requests to expedite may be made during Office Hours under the following conditions:
- If average application processing time is 15 business days or less, all requests to expedite must include justification in writing on the pre-question submitted for the reservation.
- If average application processing time exceeds 15 business days, any request to expedite an application submitted less than 15 business days prior to the call must include justification in writing on the pre-question submitted for the reservation.
- Requests to expedite Educational Leader 1: 240 clock hour portfolios require at least two consecutive 15-minute appointments (at least 30 minutes total) due to the size and complexity of the portfolio.
Expediting requests may be denied and are at the discretion of the LDOE.
