The following certificates are no longer issued by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). Professionals holding valid licensure from the appropriate Louisiana licensing board are considered certified by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). Ancillary Service certificates are no longer issued for these service providers.
School Nurse - Beginning August 1, 2023, a registered nurse who holds a current, valid license in good standing with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
Audiologist (Qualified) - Beginning June 1, 2024, a licensed audiologist who holds a current, valid Louisiana license with the Louisiana Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
Behavior Analyst Assistant - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a current assistant level certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Boards (BACB) or other nationally credentialing bodies as approved by the BACB. A BCaBA must work under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Behavior Analyst - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a current behavior analyst certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or other nationally credentialing bodies as approved by the BACB
Speech Pathologist (Qualified) - Beginning June 1, 2024, a licensed speech pathologist who holds a current, valid, full (not temporary or provisional) Louisiana license with the Louisiana Board of Examiners to serve as a speech pathologist
Social Worker - Beginning June 1, 2024, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) or a licensed master social worker (LMSW) holding a current, valid Louisiana license with the Louisiana Board of Social Work
Physical Therapy Assistant - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a current, valid PTA license to assist in the practice physical therapy as administered by the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
Physical Therapist - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a current, valid temporary license or full licensure to practice physical therapy as administered by the Louisiana State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
Occupational Therapist Assistant - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a current, valid COTA license to practice occupational therapy in Louisiana as administered by the Board of Medical Examiners
Occupational Therapist - Beginning June 1, 2024, a person who holds a temporary license or full licensure to practice occupational therapy in Louisiana as administered by the Board of Medical Examiners
School Psychologist - Beginning January 1, 2025, a psychologist holds National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credentials. Ancillary School Psychologist certificates issued under previous policy requirements may still qualify for renewal at this time.
